"DISTANCE" by JINWOO LEE

Distance is the most genuine and natural display of our subconscious. It is a universal language spoken beyond explicit expressions. An extra inch of space indicates not just a physical distance, but a level of intimacy or that of tension. Although it may not be much of a difference in measuring units, the nuance is not as subtle as it seems. Even looking at a photo, a slightest slice of an instant, you can sense the impressions of the subjects based on spacing.

However, it is not just among physical entities where ‘distance’ exists. It also exists among invisible matters such as between you and your old-self, or you and a vivid memory of yours. Recently, I underwent a mesmerizing moment with ‘distance’, thinking about photography. Sorting through the photos of last ten years, I realized that I have taken dominantly more distant shots than close-ups. My subconscious must have affirmed that distant shots can sometimes better portray the emotions of a subject than close ones. And that the rules of distance between photographer and subjects constantly evolve. To realize that I perhaps needed some ‘distance’ from photography to see this, stuck me once again.

주문합니다. 자연스럽게 원가가 엄청 올라가게 됩니다.

그런데 독일 Munich라는 지역을 보고 혹 München이 아닐까 싶어

급히 찾아 보니, 뮌헨대학교를 영어발음은 University of Munich로

표시하고 있네요.

하지만, 독일의 Bavaria주의 주도인 독일명 München으로 사용해야

합니다.
