등대

바닷가에 홀로 외로이 서 있는 등대 하나
오랜 세월 동안 고독을 벗 삼아 인내로 견뎌왔네
눈보라와 비바람이 휘몰아쳐도 침묵으로 이겨왔네
밤에는 오가는 선박들의 무언 안내자
등대가 뱃길에 불빛을 비추면
선박들은 뱃고동을 울리며 화답하네
시간은 흘러도 변함없이 거기에 서 있네.
말없이 일하면서 과거에 못다한 일들을 잊어버리고
밤하늘의 별빛 아래서 조용한 빛을 밝히고 있네
A Lighthouse
One lighthouse standing alone on the beach
It has endured with patience for a long time while
making friends with loneliness.
Even when a blizzard and a rainstorm rage, it is overcome
with silence.
At night it is an unspoken guide of ships coming and going.
When the lighthouse lights up the seaway, the ships
sound their horns and respond to each other.
As times passes by, it stands there invariably.
While working silently for getting its past unfinished work
Under the starlight of the night sky it is lighting a quiet light.
